this is knowing it from deep within, arun, you have brought out the crux of the thing. i can write a thesis on how i am trying to disentangle myself from the funny urge to please. sentiment, i think is the basic problem. it clouds your vision. you cannot see the truth. now, i think we have deviated a bit from the subject of the poetry, but overall it is the same problem--being insecure, wanting, wanting, wanting...money, recognition, power...we don't know for what. but, if we can free ourselves from its shackles, we are free. then only can we fly.
