Strife- torn area, A pair of feet That belongs to the Policeman who Sits on a bench Reading newspaper, His gun and lathi Beside him, Seen slipped out and Placed upon his shoes. Strife-torn area...
powerful frame. i remember taking such a picture for my paper many years ago--a potbellied policeman, his belt loosened, sleeping on a bench with his cap covering his face to keep out the glare of the sun, rifle by his side... it was the day after a police firing that killed three fishermen at needakara in kollam. the needakara bridge and several anchored fishing boats too were in the background of the frame, capturing the calm after the storm.
Venu Chettan: I don't know whether I conveyed it properly, but then am I supposed to. It's not for nothing they say a picture is more powerful than a thousand words. But the thing was the scene struck me instantly, the frame. I was on my way back from Tellicherry after attending a wedding and was looking through the window of the KSRTC in which I was travelling.
